Millie's Mark – Gold standard achievement in First Aid
Nursery Rhymes gained the Millie’s Mark accreditation in February 2018. In June 2021 we have been re-awarded this incredible accolade. This is a voluntary ‘Gold Standard’ award created in recognition of early years childcare providers who train all their staff in paediatric first aid and equips settings to deal with emergencies, provides peace of mind to parents and inspires excellence in paediatric First Aid. Millie’s Mark is delivered by National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) which represents day nurseries across the UK and is the only Mark supported by the government in England. Nursery Rhymes is one of only a handful of settings within the West Yorkshire area to have achieved this continually monitored accreditation. Millie’s Mark requires settings to have 100% of staff working directly with children qualified in paediatric first aid. The Mark is also about putting theory into practice. Reflective tools and an assessment process ensures nurseries evaluate their practice and paediatric first aid training is kept at the forefront of practitioners’ minds, so they are confident, ready, and capable to act should an incident occur. |
