To book a place for your child, we require a completed "Application Form for Admission" and "Childcare Agreement" along with a deposit of one months fees. In the event the place is cancelled or the start date is delayed the deposit will be non-refundable, or if the number of sessions required is reduced the deposit will only be partly refundable. Any deposit refunded will be deducted from your first invoice when a place commences.
We recommend your child attends settling in sessions prior to starting nursery, this allows both of you to gradually build up to longer periods of absence, and for your child to feel happy, comfortable and less anxious within the nursery setting and to be confident that you will return at the end of the session. For babies the settling in sessions are actually more for the benefit of parents, as it can sometimes be quite upsetting leaving your precious little bundle for the first time.
The nursery understands that the cost of registered childcare may seem expensive to a parent. However, providing a high quality, safe and stimulating service for children is not cheap and to ensure the continued high standards and sustainability of the nursery, it must ask that parents respect its policy in respect of payment of fees.
Nursery Rhymes will invoice all clients in order to give them plenty of notice of payments due. If you require additional sessions for your child please note payment is required at the time of booking.
Fees are payable one month in advance; Fees should be paid at the latest by the 1st of the previous month, to ensure that we can arrange for the appropriate staff ratios to be maintained.
To assist parents as much as possible fees can be paid by Cheque, Cash, Standing Order, Nursery Education Grant and/or Corporate Childcare Vouchers.
Sorry, no refunds can be made in cases of illness or absence, as we will have already made commitments to ensure an adequate staff ratio.
If fees are not paid at the agreed time then the Nursery Manager will notify the parent in writing and request payment at the earliest opportunity, if the Nursery Manager has to subsequently request payment for a second time or if there is a repeat incident of a late payment then a £10.00 late charge will be levied on your account.
If the outstanding invoice is not settled on the date of your child’s next session interest will also be charged on the outstanding sum.
If fees are paid consistently late or not at all with no explanation the nursery will be forced to terminate the child''s place. Under exceptional circumstances, the Nursery Manager may agree to allow the child to continue attending the nursery if an agreed payment plan is in place and adhered to.
A charge of £10.00 cash will be payable for each cheque returned unpaid. If the situation re-occurs then cash payments will only be accepted.
The Nursery Manager has the right to issue a formal warning to the parent/carer and inform them that continued late payment will result in the loss of their child''s place at the nursery.
Parents are encouraged to speak to the Manager if they have any query regarding the fees policy, or if, for any reason, they are likely to have difficulty in making a payment on time. Parents are strongly advised to arrange a meeting at the earliest opportunity.
We hope that parents understand the importance of regular fee payments as late fees can result in difficulty paying staff salaries and other overheads.
We will be delighted to offer reductions for a second and subsequent child attending the nursery. Please note any reduction given will be calculated on the lowest bill.
Due to personal choice and the range of nappies available, please provide nappies along with any creams and wipes you require our staff to use on your child. If your child’s supply at nursery of any of these items is running low, we will write in your child diary requesting you send in more supplies. Please remember to send items in for the next session, as we will have to charge if nappies are not supplied when they have been requested. These charges are set at a level to deter parents from abusing this policy.
Nursery Rhymes will provide all that is needed to give your baby their feeds whilst in our care. Please fill in the appropriate sections on the “Baby Routine Form” this can be found under the Forms to Complete section.
Please indicate the type of milk formula and teat required for your baby. It is imperative that we have this information prior to any settling in sessions; as we may not have the required formula or teats requested. Parents are also requested to inform staff in advance if their child changes formula for example when progressing on to the next stage. Nursery Rhymes will continue to provide formula milk for a child up until their first birthday. After this time cows milk will be provided.
We appreciate that mothers may wish to carry on
giving their child breast milk, in which case we would request that this is
provided in bottles ready for your child, please label clearly.
The nursery is open five days a week throughout the year, except for Public Holidays and days between Christmas and New Year inclusive, which will be charged at our usual rates. Provided that three months written notice is given prior to a holiday, a 50% discount will be given, up to a maximum of four weeks in any one year. This entitlement is pro-rata for children not attending full time. Any additional holidays taken will be charged at the standard rate.
Full fees are payable if a child is absent from any sessions due to illness, as staffing commitments have already been made.
Please note we do have an absent child policy, which we respectfully request all parents/guardians to follow.
Medication can be administered at the nursery by our senior qualified staff, provided the medicine has been prescribed by a medical practitioner and you have signed the appropriate medical form detailing information of the medication and the required dosage. Occasionally children become unwell in our care. Parents can complete the Emergency Medication Permission form, which you will find located in the “Forms to Complete” section to enable staff to provide pain relief such as Calpol. If your child is suffering from a contagious infection; please see the “Contagious Infection Exclusion Policy” to clarify how long your child needs to be excluded from nursery.
If your child becomes ill whilst in our care, we will inform you immediately. The management reserves the right to request collection of a child due to ill health, as staff are unable to care for children who are showing signs and symptoms of being unwell.
Please remember, if your child is suffering from a contagious infection, please make sure they have been clear for at least the period of time shown on the table under the “Contagious Infection Exclusion Policy”. This is to help prevent any spread of such illness within the nursery and is a requirement of Ofsted.
Please remember the start and end time of the sessions your child attends. If you are late to pick up your child, this could lead to us not having the correct staffing ratios. Unless you have made prior arrangements to drop off earlier or pick up later, you will be charged £5.00 for each full or part hour.
We appreciate that some times there can be circumstances out of your control, which may lead to you being late to collect. Out of courtesy we would always expect a call from any parent/guardian who is likely to arrive after 6:30pm to collect; as I am sure you will appreciate our staff may have plans for the evening.
One month’s written notice is required for the withdrawal of a child from the nursery. If notice is not given, one full month’s fees at the appropriate rate will be due.
