Promoting Health & Well-being at Nursery Rhymes

The PANCo program is a national initiative designed to promote health and well-being across our nursery, ensuring a holistic approach to nutrition, physical activity and overall wellness for both children and staff. By integrating nutritious meals and physical activity into daily routines, PANCo helps create healthier lifestyles for everyone involved.

Physical activity is already a key part of our daily routine and through PANCo, we will enhance these opportunities with a mix of structured and free-play activities that foster motor skills, coordination and a love for movement.

We are committed to providing balanced, nutritious meals that meet each child’s dietary needs. With the guidance of our PANCo lead and the support of our cook, we will continue to develop our menu to promote a positive relationship with food and healthy growth.

Our approach to well-being extends beyond physical health, by supporting mental and emotional development through active learning that improves concentration, builds social skills and encourages lifelong habits for happiness. Keri helps to integrate fun food-related activities such as cooking sessions and growing herbs, which will teach children about where their food comes from and the importance of eating well.

By continuing our PANCo accreditation, we are making a clear commitment to improving the health and well-being of everyone at Nursery Rhymes. We are excited to collaborate with parents through workshops, shared meal plans and regular updates to ensure they are fully involved in their child’s health journey. At Nursery Rhymes, we are proud to foster a healthier, happier environment where children can grow, thrive and learn the importance of a balanced lifestyle.
