Bradford parents can apply now for Tax-Free Childcare and 30 hours free childcare
Parents in Bradford using childcare in Bradford have the opportunity to apply early to get up to £2,000 per child, per year, through the government’s new offer for working parents: Tax-free Childcare and Working parents of 3 and 4 year olds can also apply early for 30 hours free childcare, to secure their 30 hours place starting in September 2017.
This is a superb opportunity for Bradford in advance of the national roll out. Bradford parents eligible for 30 hours funded childcare from September 2017 will be some of the first to apply.
We are asking Bradford providers to support the early roll out and signpost parents to express interest. Parents can express their interest online by the 19 April 2017, all the information can be found on the Families Information Service Website https://www.bradford.gov.uk/children-young-people-and-families/looking-for-childcare/30-hours-free-childcare/
What happens next?
After parents have registered their interest, HMRC will email them with an invitation to apply for Tax-Free Childcare and 30 hours free childcare through their digital childcare service.
The invites will be sent in batches, so it may take several weeks for the parents invitation to arrive. Parents will then be able to make an application for both Tax free Childcare and 30 hours.
If a parent is eligible for Tax-Free Childcare, they can open an online account to pay for registered childcare. Nursery Rhymes has already set up an account ready for parents how wish to use this new “Tax-Free Childcare".
If a parent is eligible for 30 hours free childcare, they will get an eligibility code to enable them to secure a 30 hours place with a provider from September 2017.
Parents will be advised to take their 30hr eligibility code to their chosen provider to make arrangements for their funded hours to be provided from September 2017.
